Off-plan projects in Al Reem Island are filling in land left over from an earlier building cycle. The island was drawn as Abu Dhabi’s freehold extension, its landmark towers went up, and then the plots around them sat empty for years. What is on sale now is that leftover ground being used, and all of it is apartments. The current lineup is below.

Off-plan projects in Al Reem Island are best read as the second half of a plan. The island was released as Abu Dhabi’s freehold extension, with tower plots sold off to separate owners. The early landmarks were built, the market then turned, and much of the ground stayed vacant for a decade. The launches on sale now are that land finally being used.
The list runs to more than a dozen towers from around ten developers, which means no single builder sets the tone here. Prices start near $210K and reach past $1.1M, booking deposits sit at 5% to 10%, and completion dates run from 2025 to 2029 with a heavy concentration in 2028.
Position is the island’s main asset. Al Reem lies immediately east of the city island, a bridge from downtown Abu Dhabi and a bridge from the financial district on Al Maryah. The amenities arrived after the housing rather than before it: a large mall, schools and medical facilities now serve an island that spent years without them. Khalifa City, Yas Island and Al Shamkha are the nearby alternatives, all of them lower and further from the centre.
Every launch is an apartment, and the range inside that has widened. Alongside the mainstream blocks there is now a Marriott-branded collection, the sort of product that follows demand rather than creating it. Fragmented plot ownership cuts both ways for a buyer: competing towers keep pricing honest, but delivery records differ sharply between developers with a long history here and those on their opening project.
