Position is the island’s main asset. Al Reem lies immediately east of the city island, a bridge from downtown Abu Dhabi and a bridge from the financial district on Al Maryah. The amenities arrived after the housing rather than before it: a large mall, schools and medical facilities now serve an island that spent years without them. Khalifa City, Yas Island and Al Shamkha are the nearby alternatives, all of them lower and further from the centre.
Every launch is an apartment, and the range inside that has widened. Alongside the mainstream blocks there is now a Marriott-branded collection, the sort of product that follows demand rather than creating it. Fragmented plot ownership cuts both ways for a buyer: competing towers keep pricing honest, but delivery records differ sharply between developers with a long history here and those on their opening project.
