Jacob & Co Beachfront Living is a branded coastal community by Ohana Development at Al Jurf, the shoreline roughly halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Ohana has built a pattern of partnering with names from outside real estate, and this is the second such collaboration in its Abu Dhabi portfolio. Jacob & Co is a jeweller and watchmaker, and its contribution here runs past the finishes: the development carries the first Jacob & Co Beach Club anywhere, along with a residents’ club and a seafront cigar lounge, operated to hotel standards.
The range is unusually wide for one gated community. One-bedroom sea-view apartments sit at the entry, larger three-bedroom apartments well above them, villas from three to six bedrooms, and sky mansions and penthouses at the top of the scale. That spread inside a single development is a deliberate choice rather than an accident of planning. It keeps the beach club and shared facilities in use year round instead of seasonally, which is the usual failure mode of resort communities built entirely from large second homes.
Most branded beachfront in the UAE stands on reclaimed land. Al Jurf does not. It occupies a natural coastal stretch with mangroves and protected landscape, developed under a masterplan that caps density rather than pushing it, which is why the beach here reads as shoreline instead of as an amenity deck. The anchor next door is SHA Wellness Clinic Emirates, a few hundred metres away and the brand’s first location outside Spain and Mexico. A medical wellness clinic of that calibre does the same job on this coast that a strong school does inland: it attracts a specific and durable kind of resident, and no competitor can put one up down the road.
The position is close to genuinely equidistant. Central Abu Dhabi and Downtown Dubai each sit around 60 kilometres away along the E11, and Dubai’s southern side is nearer still, with Expo City and Al Maktoum International roughly 35 kilometres out and Palm Jumeirah under 45. For someone who works in one city and wants weekend distance from both, there is no real substitute on either coast. The trade is that Al Jurf does not function as a daily commute into either downtown, and it was never planned to. Payment runs from a booking deposit through construction to handover in 2028, with the current schedule and prices shown in the panel above. Gorilla Real Estate can set Al Jurf against the Ghantoot launches a few kilometres north, which is the closest thing this coastline has to a comparable set.
